Connect Groups are key part of the life of the church and provide a great opportunity to pray, study the bible, have fun together and support one another.
Each group meets regularly, normally once a week or fortnightly in a variety of locations - homes, church and even a cafe!
Most groups take a break during the school holidays. We have a range of groups to meet individual needs and availability.
If you would like to join a Connect Group, please email email@example.com and we will get back you.
TOTS & TOYS
Chiltern is privileged to serve hundreds of families through Tots 'n' Toys.
Tots 'n' Toys offers children the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of toys, craft activities, stories and songs in a friendly space.
There is even a special time for those 'Bundles of Joy' aged 0 - 18 months to enjoy the same on a Tuesday afternoon.
For parents and carers, Tots 'n' Toys provides a chance to chat, make friends, enjoy mutual support and encouragement, not forgetting that vital cup of tea or coffee.
Twice a year, a professional photographer attends the groups. During the summer term there is water play in an enclosed secure outside space (weather permitting).
For those coming on a Sunday morning with children, there are a range of things on offer for your kids.
There is a fully-equipped creche (ages 0-2) upstairs for parents with young children. There are speakers in the room (with volume controls) so you don't miss out on what's happening in the main hall. There are toys and changing facilities in the creche.
For the children (3-11), there is a kids club run by a fantastic team of volunteers. We will let you know in the meeting when that starts (normally shortly after the notices) and where to go (the hall adjacent to the main meeting area)
(during term time)
Chiltern takes on a different feel after school on Monday, as the children's groups take over! A 'typical' evening (if there is one) includes group games, crafts, a short DVD and a variety of fun activities to allow children to expend some energy and learn a bit more about God in a safe environment.
The age groups are as follows:
(for children from reception to year 3) 4:30pm - 5:45pm
(school years 3-6) 4.45pm - 6pm
The programme is varied to suit different tastes and each group meets for an hour, with a half-hour overlap in the middle. If you have a child at primary school, why not give it a try? The children would recommend it!
Both groups meet term time only and cost £1 per evening, which includes 'Tuck'.
For more information on the children’s work contact our voliunteer team on firstname.lastname@example.org
Every week during the school term we host a Friday night youth group aimed at creating a safe space for young people (Year 7+) to hang out, have fun, and connect with friends.
We play some game, eats some snacks, and provide an environment where young people can relax and enjoy themselves.
The group meets from 19:30 - 21:30 during school term time.
For the youth (12-17) that attend on a Sunday morning, there is a group that runs in the youth lounge upstairs. They will head up to the lounge during the main talk.
Once a month we meet in the youth lounge upstairs to chat about different topics concerning faith and life. We usually start off with pizza, then watch a video clip and spend most of the time discussing it together.
